Why does the wastewater need to be pretreated by flocculation and adsorption with polyferric chloride.

In the process of coagulation, ferric hydroxide flocs are formed, which has a good ability to adsorb organic matters in wastewater. The experimental data show that after the wastewater is flocculated and adsorbed by polyferric chloride, about 10% – 20% of COD in wastewater can be removed, which can greatly reduce the operation burden of biochemical tank and help to meet the discharge standard of wastewater treatment. In addition, coagulation pretreatment with Polyferric iron can remove the toxic and inhibitory trace substances in wastewater, so as to ensure the normal operation of microorganisms in the biochemical tank. Among many coagulants, the price of PFE is relatively cheap (25-300 yuan / ton), so the treatment cost is relatively low, which is more suitable for the pretreatment of process wastewater.

Polyferric is an acid substance with strong corrosivity. Therefore, the treatment equipment should be well protected against corrosion.
