Analysis of the filtering and compaction process of the filter press

In an ideal filtration process, the filtrate can be discharged completely. In order to achieve the desired filtering effect, optimizing the filtering process is essential. Therefore, when the filter cake is compressed in the filter chamber, the overall filter pressure first slowly increases, and then significantly increases. At the same time, the throughput and flow rate should be kept as high as possible. When the solid matter in the filter increases in the later stage, the flow can be appropriately reduced. Other optimization requirements mainly focus on the following aspects:
The overall goal of filtration process optimization is to increase the total processing capacity of the filter press, increase the packing level of the box filter press, strengthen the processing of the filter cake (such as the washing of the filter cake of the diaphragm filter press), and gradually increase the dehydration of the filter press ability. To this end, we provide solutions to processing process problems according to customer needs, and assist customers to optimize their daily operations.

The entire filtration process will be affected by many factors. Among them, the main factors include:
In fact, these factors cannot be easily changed. The sewage treatment plant can concentrate the suspension or add filter aids to improve the filtering effect. When filtering products, there are fewer measures to change the filtering effect. When the suspension cannot be replaced, filter aids are unlikely to be used. Only through the selection of filter cloth and matching pump (model, performance, control) to change the filtration process. In this case, by recording the feed pressure, discharge pressure, discharge volume and the speed control of the inverter, the output rate is automatically adjusted to the level required by the filter plate process, thereby increasing the filling degree of the filter chamber and developing a filter press Machine’s existing potential.
Considering the formation of the filter cake, it should be noted that there is no barrier layer during the formation of the filter cake, otherwise the uniformity of the filter cake will be affected. The filtered suspension must be able to form a compressible filter cake. Adjust the filter fabric to reduce the initial filtration resistance, thereby improving the filter cake structure and better reducing the water content of the filter cake. The addition of flocculants and coagulants can also improve this effect. However, if the composition of the suspension cannot be changed, the result can only be optimized by adjusting the filter cloth accordingly.

Pay attention to:
Optimization of filter performance by filter aids such as flocculants
In order to improve the filtration performance of various suspensions, filter aids (such as flocculants) are commonly used. These filter aids usually flocculate solids. This will produce the same filtration performance as mineral particles.
In addition to wastewater treatment, solid-liquid separation also plays an important role in many other processes. In order to improve the separation effect, filter aids are commonly used. Small particles can quickly become large flakes, which can be better separated from the liquid. In view of their chemical structure, the difference between these filter aids is:
Polymer is a kind of high molecular organic flocculant with different degree of cross-linking. They are specially developed for the physical and chemical separation of suspensions. Applications of flocculants include sludge dewatering in sewage treatment plants and fermentation residue treatment in biogas plants. More applications include:
The adsorption of polymer by flocculated particles is the prerequisite for the flocculation effect of solid materials. The flocculant has the property of decomposing into ions in the aqueous solution. They are also called polymer electrolytes. The chain molecules and suspended particles are formed by electrostatic force and hydrogen bonds. Before actual application, the appropriate polymer will be selected through appropriate laboratory experiments. The application of the product requires the advice of our technicians in order to correctly design storage, production and dosage solutions under all conditions.
