Causes and solutions for the turbidity of belt filter press

          The belt filter press is a filter press equipment with an elastic membrane between the filter plate and the filter cloth. In the process of use, after the feeding is completed, high-pressure fluid or gaseous medium can be injected into the separator. At this time, the entire diaphragm will bulge and press the filter cake to further dehydrate the filter cake, which is usually called squeeze filtration. The belt filter press is very convenient to use, but many problems will be encountered during use.
1. The filter cloth is damaged.
The belt filter press further dehydrates the filter cake and uses compressed air to fill the diaphragm. The two-dimensional pressure generated by the deformation of the diaphragm breaks the arch bridge formed between the particles and squeezes out the filtrate remaining in the gap between the particles. The compressed air pressure can reach 1.0MPa. If the material supply is insufficient and the filter cake does not fill the filter chamber, the filter plate membrane will be severely swollen, thereby damaging the filter plate. When the feed contains large solid particles, the irregular force acting on the diaphragm side of the filter chamber during the extrusion process can cause the diaphragm to rupture. You can carefully check the turbidity of the effluent filtrate. If it is caused by the turbidity of the filtrate of each faucet, it can basically be judged that the filter cloth here is damaged. At this time, please check and analyze the cause of the filter cloth damage. If it is caused by incorrect use of the belt filter press, you should pay attention to the correct operation method and replace the filter cloth in the subsequent operation.


2. Liquid leakage between the filter plate and the diaphragm plate.
When the belt filter press is working, the leakage between the filter plate and the diaphragm plate is one of the common faults. The main reasons are: high pressure of the feed water pump, large flow; insufficient oil pressure; folds of the filter cloth or debris on the sealing surface of the filter cloth and the diaphragm plate. The treatment method is relatively simple. The pump pressure and flow can be readjusted according to the cause of the failure, and the oil pressure can be increased. During the filter press process, the filter cloth is usually kept clean and smooth. If you find holes in the filter cloth, please replace it in time and clean it with a nylon scraper. After each shift completes the next cycle, each filter cloth should be used to clean the debris between the sealing surfaces of the two plates.
3. Unthread the suture of the filter cloth.
If you find a problem caused by the open thread at the suture of the filter cloth, remove the filter cloth and re-sew it.
4. Improper selection of filter cloth.
When choosing a filter cloth, a suitable filter cloth should be selected according to certain characteristics of the filtrate. If you choose improperly, it is easy to cause the filter cloth to fail quickly, and in this case, if there is turbidity, it tends to gradually become serious, and usually there will be problems in almost all parts of the filter cloth. Or it is caused by the opening of the selected filter cloth being too large. At this time, a suitable filter cloth must be replaced.


Emission turbidity has a greater impact on work efficiency. If the discharge is found to be turbid, it should be repaired in time. However, if the belt filter is turbid only at the beginning of the work, it will gradually become clear later, which is normal.
