Classification of sludge drying equipment

1. Direct heating

      The hot air is in direct contact with the sludge. The hot air supplies the heat required for drying, and acts as a carrier to carry away the evaporated water in the sludge. In order to increase the contact area between the hot air and the sludge, a crushing and stirring device is added.

      Representative models are: rotary drum dryer with internal crushing device; fluidized bed with internal parts.

      The characteristics of this type of model are: large processing capacity, but high energy consumption and high operating costs. When the exhaust gas is further deodorized, the load is heavy.

2. Indirect heating

      The heating medium is not in direct contact with the material, and the material is dried through heat conduction. Representative models are: hollow blade paddle dryer, disc dryer.

      The characteristics of this type of model are: single machine has a small processing capacity, but low energy consumption, and the operating cost is more economical than the direct type.
