Tips to improve the efficiency of filter press

            In the era of rapid economic development, the influence of machine efficiency is also increasing. The same is true for the filter press that we often use. Its efficiency directly affects the profitability of the enterprise, so it should be taken seriously.

To improve the working efficiency of the filter press, we must first understand the working principle of the chamber filter press. Its work efficiency is closely related to the filter cake moisture, the solid content in the filtrate and the hourly processing capacity of the filter press and the feed concentration, feed pressure, feed particle size composition and filter press time and other factors.
First, let’s talk about the particle size composition of the feed. The content of -200 mesh level in the feed directly affects the filter press effect. The greater the content of -200 mesh, the lower the processing capacity of the filter press and the higher the moisture content of the filter cake. If the feed size is relatively coarse, although its filtration performance is good, the cake-forming time is short. However, the feed size is too coarse, the slime settles quickly, the fluidity is poor, the center hole of the filter press is prone to blockage, and the resulting filter cake is loose. Therefore, the chamber filter press is suitable for processing -0.5mm flotation.

Secondly, attention should be paid to the feed concentration and pressure. The higher the feed concentration, the shorter the time required for the filter press to fill the filter chamber with coal slime, the stronger the processing capacity of the filter press and the lower the moisture content of the filter cake. Although a higher feed concentration is beneficial to the improvement of the filter press effect, the feed concentration should not be too high. Generally, the feed concentration is required to be above 300g/L, preferably around 500g/L, and the highest should not exceed 800g/L. The higher the feed pressure, the lower the moisture content of the filter cake. If the pressure is too high, although it helps to shorten the cake-forming time and reduce the water content of the filter cake, the effect is not significant. Generally, the feed pressure of 0.4-0.8MPa is the best state.
In addition, it is necessary to control the filter press time. The longer the filter press time, the lower the moisture content of the filter cake. However, the filter press time directly affects the processing capacity of the chamber filter press. Moreover, it shows that the filter press time is too long, and the moisture reduction of the filter cake is not obvious.
